DT 50 will not shut off

Hello. I have a 1981 suzuki DT 50. Just got it and that thing runs grear. Problem is the thing will not shut off with the key. I have checked the wiring to the CDI and it is grounding like it should to the box, but no luck. I even ran a jumper wire straight from the CDI "kill wire" to the negitive post on the battery. Nothing works. so I have been doing allot of trolling lately. anyone heard of this problem before?

this is a temporary fix, but pull the choke and it'll stall out/die...
