Dark Oil leaking out near propeller shaft

I prepared my 1997 DT115STC for the summer as usual. Changed plugs, lower unit oil, greased zerks, etc. Also had to replace the water pressure sensor plug. It was leaking cooling water. The next week I noticed a very dark oil slowly leaking out of the gear case just below the propeller shaft. I am sure it is not gear case oil as it looks very dark - almost black. Checked gear case oil and it is clean - not creamy or cloudy. Any ideas? Oil ring or oil seal?

Its a 2 stroke just unburnt oil , no oil in sump did you witerize it might just be winter fluid

Thanks Mitch. I did not winterize it. It sits in my garage under a heated space in the house.
